The meeting focused on the development of the program ‘Call to Action’ that the vice-president Harris drives since his arrival to the White House.
The vice-president of the united States, Kamala Harris, met on Wednesday with business leaders who have invested in the north of Central america, a key focus of the administration of president Joe Biden to address the causes of irregular migration.
Harris held the meeting with the businessmen, as part of the program ‘Call to Action’, an initiative launched in may of 2021 and that it has “mobilized more than 1,200 million dollars in investments from the private sector to the north of Central america,” according to a synthesis of the meeting released by the White House.
The vice-president Harris it was placed under the command the handling of the issue of migration in the region, including the so-called Northern Triangle: Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, countries in which it comes to US most of the irregular migrants in the region.
